The Oscars are turning 96, but the Annies just turned 51! But, what are the Annies???

The 96th Oscars are coming up next Sunday, March 10th, 2024. But another awards show just turned 51 on February 17th.

They’re known as the Annie Awards. These awards focus on the best animation of the previous year. Check out the latest winners and more here:

The ceremony was held in beautiful Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA.

I called UCLA home for four-plus years while I earned my bachelor’s degree in history and biology.

I got to go to the Annie Awards where Mark Hammill was the host. I forgot which year that was, but my best guess was the 24th Annie Awards held in 1996.

A college roommate had an extra ticket and knew I was a huge Star Wars fan. I was able to get a photo with “Luke Skywalker” that night!

Speaking of animation, with VidToon you can create animated videos easily…

…it doesn’t matter what industry you’re in. VidToon can help you generate more of what you need such as leads, sales, and profits.

P.S. You can watch some past Annie Awards here: https://www.youtube.com/@ASIFAHollywood/streams

P.P.P.S. If you can provide proof of which Annie Awards had Mark Hammill as a host, I will be eternally grateful.

I might have an Annie Awards program in deep storage but I don’t feel like digging around for hours!
